Ashburton Wastewater Upgrade

The Ashburton waste water upgrade is a very large-scale waste water application. Kauri Park nurseries became involved in this project from the early design stages. Kauri Park is the only nursery in New Zealand capable of supplying large volumes of Eleocharis sphacelata. Eleocharis is a large component of most waste water polishing applications. Dr Chris Tanner from NIWA, in the Hamilton Offices, was sub-contracted to URS Christchurch for the design and engineering stages. Chris indicated that possibly only Kauri Park was capable of fore filling such a contract.
